Brilliant. How are the connections represented?

I've been thinking about this the past couple of days...and my initial thoughts are:

- it would look like a web, with your game of choice at the center and all connected games branching from the center

- the web of games would work by degrees of separation -- so if you were interested in Core Genre and Subgenre, the web will be configured to show you games connected to your game of choice based on similarity of the Core Genre and Subgenre category

- the further away the game is from the center, the less similar it is (but still connected in some way)

- if you're interested in more than one category/subcategory, then they would be added to the web, making it increasingly complex, but also a more complete/picture of all the connections with the game in the center

I can see it in my head, but I don't know if I explained it properly...I'm hoping to be able to create a web interface for this...with my very limited skill set lol

Really smart way to organize game categories. Kudos. Must have taking you forever.

It was a bit of a beast to think about this and a bit longer to organize it in a way that makes...some sense lol

But I'm getting there, thank you for your encouragement!

Crazy as it seems, but I find it so useful 😂

I'm glad it's looking useful to you!

I really do need to make this more visually appealing or represent it in a way that's less overwhelming...but well, you'll get to see the messy thought process on here 😂

But what if the JRPG is also an ARPG? ;-) Isn't turn-based the proper opposite to ARPG?

I think you took a wrong turn. Many of these seem useful (peripherals come to mind as first), but many seem to be things less important than a screenshot (setting & lore)

I'm not sure if there are "proper" opposites anymore...I guess any "action" game would be an opposite of "turn-based".

Periodic Table might also not be the best way to describe this...for some subcategories multiple tile selection is possible, so under the "RPG" core genre, you could select both "JRPG" and "ARPG".

I probably did take a wrong turn somewhere given how crazy this turned out to be... 😅
