Very interesting! I did not know this existed. Is there research that reflects such attributes from a game perspective? If I look at the different categories, I'd score them differently depending on the game. For example, using the Quantum Foundry model for Helldivers 2, I'd score high on all six points. Yet for something like Civ 6, I'd only score on a few of them.

I'm glad you found it interesting!

I did a quick look around to see if anybody else had done it by game, but I don't think anybody has sliced the cake that way yet.

I'm curious though, if you took a look at all the games you do like to play, is there a "core set" of dimensions that always appear? Those might be your true motivations for playing a game (i.e., must haves that without them you wouldn't consider touching).

If I come across any studies that have looked at these motivations by game, I will let you know!

Regarding a core set, not really. In fact, the more I look at them, the more I realise I can apply all six equally to why I enjoy both Helldivers 2 and Civ 6.

I suspect I don't grasp the nuance of the dimensions.
